Tuscan Square is closed.

January 28, 2008

Tuscan Square closed for business on Saturday, January 26, 2008 due to a termination of our lease.
Thank you New York, for eleven years of patronage and appreciation!
I hope you’ll come and see me for lunch and dinner at Centolire, 1167 Madison Avenue at 85th Street,
and for dinner at Coco Pazzo, 23 East 74th Street.

A dopo!

Ciao Pino! I am very saddened with the news that you have closed our dear Tuscan Square! It was such a beautiful restaurant that inspired me an taught me how to appreciate Italian food. Pino, I would like to use this opportunity to thank you for “adopting” me and allowing me to work in Tuscan Square and CocoPazzo. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you, Mark and Michael of course for your kindness. My husband and I have now transferred to Jakarta Indoneseia from Hong Kong. He is now the executive chef of the Mulia Hotel here in Jakarta, and I have resumed my acting career in the Philippines and Indonesia , so we are doing very well. I miss New York dearly and I hope to visit soon.
God Bless you and your family!

    Sincerely,
    Carla

This is so awful!!!! I dine at the downstairs cafe for lunch 3 to 4 times a week. I was so thrilled to find a restaurant with such excellent quality, in food, design, and staff. I quickly became a regular. Midtown has so few options that are not for the sandwich eater or expense-account diner. Tuscan Square was truly a special and unique restaurant. I will miss all the staff, particularly the cashiers, the manager Maria.
